Frequently asked questions.

Why Spray Foam?

Spray foam is the best solution to modern day building insulation. By providing a higher R-value than traditional fiberglass insulation, spray foam is the pinnacle of insulation. Spray foam also provides a much better barrier to the elements which is proven to almost completely eliminate dust inside. Which in West Texas, can be a big deal!

Do you offer traditional insulation solutions?

Yes! First Alarm Foam Insulation also offers blown-in fiberglass and blown-in cellulose. We can also provide a combination of these such as a spray-foamed attic space with blown-in cellulose exterior walls to provide the best option for your building.

Will spray foam reduce my electricity bill?

Spray foam can reduce heating and cooling costs by up to 15% which adds up to thousands over a span of several years. Some studies even show 20% to 30% reduced costs when compared to an older or poorly insulated house. It is MOST cost effective to initially spray foam a structure at the time of construction but First Alarm can and will spray foam existing structures.

Can i improve the insulation on an existing property?

Absolutely! Spray foam can be added to the attic space of an existing home or applied to an existing steel building. Additional blown-in insulation can also be added to an attic space. Traditional blown-in insulation naturally settles and degrades over time thus reducing its ability to insulate. It is recommended that insulation quality and quantity be evaluated at least every 5 years. Blown-in fiberglass typically needs to be replaced 15-20 years into it’s life.

What if i don’t like the way spray foam looks?

This really only applies to steel buildings or barns but spray foam can be painted! If you desire a “cleaner” look, spray foam can be painted to obtain a more desirable look.
